GBoard Keyboard For iOS Gets More Language Support

Google first introduced Gboard for iPhone users in May last year. The keyboard app's big highlight was inbuilt Google Search making it easier for users to insert information, GIFs, and emojis without leaving the conversation. An update in October brought along support for 3D Touch and new iOS 10 emojis. Now, a new update has arrived for iPhone users and it brings more language support, Google Doodle integrations, and beefed up support for iOS 10 emojis, among other things.

First up, Gboard version 1.3.0 brings support for 15 more global languages including Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Greek, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Catalan, Hungarian, Malay, Russian, Latin American Spanish and Turkish. You can change the language in the Gboard app by heading to Languages > Add Language.

Gboard features a Google Search icon on the top left of the keyboard screen. Once the G icon is pressed, users can search for addresses, flights, and even YouTube videos. Now, with this update, the G icon will animate cuing you to quickly tap to open up the day's Doodle and search for more information about it.

There's also the introduction of voice typing which allows you to dictate the message to the app for auto-typing. Long pressing the space bar will activate the mic, and you can then tell Gboard what to type as a text message.

While iOS 10 emoji support was introduced in the October update, this one improves upon the support and lets you search and send all of the latest emoji from iOS 10. The latest Gboard app update can be found in the App Store.
